Firefly was founded in 2016 and is based in cork in ireland.

what started with a former music project, became a solid connection.   

Firefly combines 5 artists from different backgrounds. with influences from traditional irish music, country, rock, alternative, pop and worldmusic, the members combine their individual styles to make music their own. firefly plays covers from various music genres in an Indiefolk style and also writes own songs. the single "A thousand miles" is available on iTunes Spotify and other online music stores.                   2017 firefly won the nua musician award in cork.

ABOUT THE BANDMEMBERS 

 

torlac o'reilly the male vocalist of firefly with the bluesy voice also previously gigged with the band "Almost Committed".

Music influences: U2, David Gray, Foo Fighters, Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Jasmin o'davidson female vocalist of firefly, Songwriter and Singer of the Acoustic Duo Free Spirit. 

Music Influences: Passenger, the script, Lifehouse, Creed, Solas, Julie Fowlis, The Coronas, Walking on cars.

Jeroen blancke plays violin and mandolin, not only with firefly but also in an irish traditional band called "Finnegan's Gaels"which performs regularly. He recently also was playing violin  in a gig with lewis Barfoot.

Music influences:Altan, Old Blind Dogs, Gaelic Storm, trad. Irish Music.

John O' Connor Joined 2017 Plays Drums and percussion currently plays with the joy division band "digital" and the dagenham yanks besides Firefly. John brings plenty Experience in many different styles of music to the band.Music influences: Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Tina Turner, John Mayer.

Ruairi O'Sullivan  Firefly's Guitarist. Together with John he currently also plays with the joy division band "digital" besides Firefly. And with Jasmin in "Free Spirit" A music duo which focusses mainly on own music . Music influences: Tool, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Cream
